I'm Nonto, an independent South African music artist creating contemporary alternative music.

My sound blends soulful, R&B, deep house, jazz influences and more, to create music that is honest, emotive, and uniquely my own.

I create music on my own terms, no label, no machine, just intention, and a genuine love for the craft.

Every track I release is written, curated, and self-funded from start to finish. I’m not chasing trends. I’m here to build a sound that reflects the way I experience the world, layered, imperfect, direct, and honest. 

My music speaks to what we often avoid saying out loud, the tension in relationships, the unspoken questions, the push and pull between connection and independence. Whether it’s Akekho, Find Me Love, Issues, Looking Ahead, or Colourful, each project is a snapshot of where I was emotionally and mentally at the time, nothing packaged, just real moments with real weight.  

I’m influenced by soulful textures, clean vocals, and production that gives space for the message to land. I don’t make music to escape life. I make it to process it, and to give people something they can feel, but also think about. This is for anyone building something from the ground up.
